iPad mini 4



Lisa Gade reviews the iPad mini 4, Apple’s latest 8” tablet launched in Sept. 2015. The mini 4 has a 7.9” IPS “Retina” display with 2048 x 1536 resolution. It moves up to the Apple A8 dual core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz with 2 gigs of RAM. As per usual you have 3 storage choices: 16, 64 or 128 gigs. It’s available with WiFi only or with WiFi + cellular 4G LTE for $130 more.

The tablet has dual band WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and cellular models have a GPS. It has Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint scanner that you can use for secure purchases in the app store, iTunes and in web-based purchases. The iPad mini 4 has a front 1.2MP FaceTime camera and a rear 8MP iSight camera with f/2.4 lens and 1080p video recording. The tablet is the thinnest and lightest mini yet, and it’s 6.1mm thick and weighs 10.5 ounce/298grams. The price starts at $399 for the WiFi 16 gig model in your choice of space gray, silver or gold.
